October 29–30 & October 31–November 1
What Is Shalom?
“Shalom” is a Hebrew word we often interpret as “peace.”
But its meaning reaches beyond simply feeling peaceful. Shalom carries a sense of wholeness, harmony, and well-being—a place where nothing is lacking.
An Invitation to Be Still
The Shalom Retreat is primarily a silent retreat designed to create space for you to encounter the Father, Jesus, and the Spirit in the ways they know you need—gently moving you along your path toward wholeness.
While silence is not required for the entire retreat, you are invited to step out of the busyness of everyday life for 24 hours and simply be still before the Lord. This retreat emphasizes individual time with God rather than scheduled group activity.
What to Expect
Your 24 hours are intentionally spacious. There is some gentle structure, but much of the retreat is yours to spend as you need.
Begin with Worship
We’ll begin with worship and a short session to prepare our hearts and minds and become attentive to what the Spirit may have for us.
Optional Experiences
• Spiritual activities for your individual time
• An afternoon session exploring shame and receiving the freedom Jesus has already provided
• Personal sessions with Liz to talk about how the Spirit is moving or where you may feel stuck
The Time Is Yours
Spend intentional time with the Lord—or nap, read, walk, reflect, or simply rest. There is no pressure to fill the time. Allow yourself the freedom to receive whatever you need from these 24 hours.
We’ll end our silence together with worship and an optional opportunity to share
how the Lord met you during the retreat.

Your Retreat Leader
Meet Liz Gordon
Liz Gordon is a pastoral counselor with Safe Harbor Ministry whose own experience of God’s healing has shaped a deep desire to accompany others with compassion, courage, and hope. She creates a safe, grace-filled space where people can bring their wounds, fears, and places of feeling stuck into the healing presence of Jesus and learn to rest more deeply in the love of the Father, Son, and Spirit.
Liz holds a master’s degree in pastoral counseling and has pursued extensive formation in soul healing and Formational Healing. For nearly a decade, she has provided one-to-one care and led soul-healing experiences, including seven years serving students, parents, and alumni as Director of LifeCare at Tree of Life Christian Schools. During the Shalom Retreat, Liz will gently help create space for participants to listen, rest, and notice how the Spirit may be meeting them.
